Community
As a firm we wish to invest in Tasmania. We want to enrich the lives of Tasmanians and support organisations that have similar values to our own. The firm has thought about how to achieve this objective. Being a small firm we need to leverage off the existing efforts of others.

Those activities that improve the quality of life of Tasmanians are of interest to us. In particular those activities that emphasise the things that unite us rather than those that separate us. We believe that through cooperation and innovation we can make a difference.

Awards
The Tenbensel and Dee medal is awarded for the Highest Achievement by a graduating MPA (Master of Professional Accounting) student at UTAS.

Our most recent community support action
We have supported Tasmania's premier arts festival, Ten Days on the Island, through joining CBD2. Aimed at small to medium businesses in Hobart, it is an affordable way for small businesses to support the festival. It demonstrates our need to work with others to achieve great results, and links with our values of respect and positive relationships. We are particularly attracted to the truly state-wide nature of the festival. It is hoped that CBD2 will raise sufficient funds to bring an additional international artist to Tasmania. We also plan to have fun during the festival and hope to see you there.

Tenbensel and Dee was proud to sponsor the Artfully Queer Exhibition.  It is a state-wide gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (GLBTIQ) community event.  A key aim of the exhibition is to "develop harmony and understanding not only within the GLBTIQ community, but across the wider Tasmanian and Australian communities."

We see this as fitting well with our values of:

  • invest in positive relationships

  • work together in an atmosphere of trust

  • engage in honest and open communication

  • recognise that our clients and our staff are individuals, and respect that individuals have varying needs.

We are proud to play our part in developing harmony and understanding in our community plus support artistic endeavour and expression.

Information about Artfully Queer Exhibition, TasPride and the festival is available at www.taspride.com.

Ongoing community support action

Tenbensel & Dee recently provided pro bono services to Hopes Inc, a non-profit organisation providing support and accommodation options for people with acquired disabilities and neurological conditions.
Tenbensel and Dee has also provided pro bono services to Working It Out Inc, a non-profit organisation.  Working It Out is Tasmania's gender and sexuality support and education service, providing direct support to the gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual and intersex community and education and training to the wider Tasmanian community.

Tenbensel and Dee have assisted them in gaining Deductible Gift Recipient status.  By implementing salary packaging, we are assisting them to attract and retain high-quality employees.

We provide postage to Hunter Island Press which was founded in 2004 by Tasmanian print makers.  Their aim is to establish a safe, affordable, professional printmaking facility in Hobart for artists, graduates and the wider community.  If you would like to find out more, or to find out where their latest exhibitions are, please follow this link.
